Collectors Days at the gallery...

Each Spring boswell Gallery hosts its Collector's Weekend for our customers and collectors old and new.

It's Hard To Tell When A Tradition Begins. Most people that purchase one piece of art will usually purchase their second within two years. Thus beginning the collection that can be handed down from generation to generation.
Beyond being a highly-detailed masterpiece, fine art is able to tell a story, a piece of history, that holds special meaning to those who buy it and to those who receive it as gifts.

To help some of you make that final decision we will have what we like to call "Collectors Days" this Friday and Saturday, July 11-12th from 12-9. Owner and Art Director Elliott Boswell we be on hand to discuss all your new art needs.

New Public Art in front of the Gallery

Artist Phil Proctor has installed a new public art sculpture in front of the gallery. The 9 ft. tall , 450 lb. steel sculpture titled
Gun Ship is now on display at the gallery until August 2008.

The work of Phil Proctor includes many areas of Fine Art practice, such as: drawing, sculpture, collage, assemblage, the found object, fabricated metal, cast metal, cast paper, animation, site-specific artworks, public sculpture, and interdisciplinary projects within the public realm.

Friday May 23rd, 2008 5-10 pm is ArtWalk

The gallery will be hosting the wonderful work of Artist / Owner Elliott Boswell and featuring new works by many of the gallery artists. Artists showcased include Skye Mason, Ellen King, Dawn Kinney Martin and Liz Williams. “ArtWalk ” is an artistic preface to the Decatur Arts Festival, on Saturday, May 24 & 25th Downtown Decatur. The evening will be an energetic celebration of fine art, community, music and food. Free and open to the public. May 23rd, 2008 5-10 pm
